The top local stories this morning from KERA News:  Polls are now open across Texas for early voting in the general election.

Naturally, all eyes are on the presidential race at the top of the ticket. But it remains to be seen whether the presidential race will effect down-ballot races in Texas. There’s a number of state judicial and congressional races, and a seat on the Railroad Commission up for grabs.

In North Texas, Arlington residents will decide the fate of a proposed billion-dollar new stadium for the Texas Rangers. Dallas voters will decide whether to curb the pension benefits of future city employees.

Early voting runs through Nov. 4.
