Top Stories: A Silent Protest Is Set For Tonight In Downtown Dallas

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: Three weeks after five officers were killed following a peaceful protest in downtown Dallas, another demonstration’s set for tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Main Street Garden.

The silent march will protest policing tactics in black communities.

Other stories this morning:

  • 50 years ago, a sniper gunned down 16 people from the tower at the University of Texas before police killed him. The first person shot was Claire Wilson, a freshman who was 8 months pregnant. Wilson survived. Her baby and her boyfriend did not. She talked about that experience in our Friday Conversation.
