The top local stories this morning from KERA News: The Texas Republican Convention gets into full swing today at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas.

10,000 Republicans are expected to attend this year. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is expected to speak.

  • The Lone Star Circus School in Dallas teaches classes like juggling and contortion to students from ages 2 to 71. It’s one of 250 such schools in the country.
  • The Stars are out of the Stanley Cup hockey playoffs. Dallas lost to St. Louis last night 6 to 1.
