Top Stories: Public Restroom Restriction Fails To Get Traction; Junior Year Struggles

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: The Rockwall City Council last night rejected a proposal from the mayor to regulate use of public restrooms.  

The ordinance would’ve required people to use the restroom that corresponds to the sex on their birth certificate, not the gender with which they identify.

  • For the past few years, KERA’s been following a group of North Texas students since the 8th grade. These students are now in the final weeks of junior year – and they’re at a point where decisions they make can shape the rest of their lives.
