The top local stories this morning from KERA News: The Dallas Park and Recreation Board this morning will get details on what Fair Park would look like under new management.

The city currently owns and manages the grounds, but the City Council will vote next month whether they’ll turn over management to the proposed nonprofit Fair Park Texas Foundation.

Other stories this morning:

  • Texas Senator Ted Cruz called his primary victory in Wisconsin “a turning point” in his battle to take the Republican presidential nomination away from Donald Trump. He faces two challenges ahead though: winning support from his Congressional colleagues and taking delegates from Ohio governor John Kasich.
  • Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier in 1947 and was an outspoken proponent for Civil Rights. A local baseball historian talks to our Big Screen team about Robinson’s contributions ahead of a new PBS documentary.
