Top Stories: Farmers Branch Police Officer Charged With Murder; Movies About Music

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: An off-duty police officer in Farmers Branch was arrested last night after shooting and killing a teenager over the weekend. He’s charged with murder and aggravated assault.

  • Hospital administrators across the state are waiting for news about the future of some Medicaid funds. State officials applied last fall to renew what’s known as an 11-15 Medicaid waiver, but they haven’t gotten word yet. It was created as a temporary funding measure to help hospitals provide health care to uninsured patients.
