Texas Senator Ted Cruz hopes to do well in his home state on Super Tuesday. He's placed second in three of the four Republican primaries.

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: Presidential contenders this morning will make final pitches in North Texas before tomorrow’s primary.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz will hold a rally at Gilley’s in Dallas at 10. At noon, former President Bill Clinton will be in Fort Worth to campaign for Hillary Clinton.

It’s the latest in a string of campaign stops by presidential candidates. Republican front-runner Donald Trump visited Fort Worth, while Florida Senator Marco Rubio was in Dallas Friday. Ben Carson stumped in Irving Saturday.

The same day, Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders spoke to a largely young audience at Grand Prairie’s Verizon Theatre. According to the latest polls, Hillary Clinton continues to lead Bernie Sanders in Texas. Our state has 252 Democratic delegates; more than any Super Tuesday state.
