WEATHER UPDATE: Damage In Granbury, Community Response

10:00 a.m.: Dallas Fire Rescue's Task Force 2 Search and Rescue worked overnight searching the rubble of the Rancho Brazos neighborhood ripped apart by one of several tornadoes that roared through North Texas. Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds says the rescue crew did not find any survivors or additional casualties. And he is hopeful the seven people still listed as missing are safe and will check in.

9:00 a.m.: The American Red Cross shelter established at First United Methodist Church is now closed. If you need a place to stay go to First Christian Church located at 2109 West Highway 377, Granbury, Texas.

8:35 a.m.: Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds says officials have located seven of the 14 people missing after last night’s deadly storm system swept through Granbury. The Sheriff’s Department is hopeful the remaining seven people who are unaccounted for will check in soon.

8:20 a.m.: The Granbury Independent School District is up and running today as usual. School officials have confirmed that all campuses are open. For more information, click here.

8:05 a.m.: The DFW chapter of the American Red Cross is on the ground in Granbury helping those who have been displaced. Officials stress that they can’t accept donated items. If you want to help click here to donate.

7:30 a.m.: Access to the hard hit neighborhood of Rancho Brazos is blocked as utility crews deal with downed power lines and first responders search through the rubble of homes ripped apart by last night's tornado.

Debris from the neighborhood has found it's way miles from the damage site: including a photo of a young soldier lying in some grass next to a far away fence. On the back is written "To my sister, from Billy.

Six are confirmed dead in Granbury, 14 are missing. KERA's BJ Austin is in Hood County and will be providing updates throughout the day.
