Dallas, TX – Irving Police say the death of a two year old boy in a hot car appears to be a tragic accident. KERA's BJ Austin reports.

Investigators say the single mom of nine children called police to report her two year old missing yesterday evening. A search found him in the back of the family SUV parked in the driveway.

Officials say the family was unloading personal belongings yesterday about 4:30. Children were in and around the vehicle, helping unload and playing. Thinking everyone was out of the car, the Mom closed the doors.

Police say the child's death appears to be heat related. CPS is investigating, as well. The children range in age from one to 15. The family has moved to Texas from California in the past two weeks.
