Governor Perry Reconsiders 2012 Presidential Race
With the end of the legislative session just days away, Governor Rick Perry today opened the door to a run for the Presidency.
Reporter: What about when it's over Governor are you going to think about it?
Perry: Yessir.
Reporter: About running for President?
Perry: I'm going to think about it but I think about a lot of things.
Perry's comments came during the ceremonial signing of legislation that will require voters to produce an approved photo ID. For months Perry has said he's not interested in being President. His apparent interest now follows encouragement from national conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh and decisions by several other national figures not to run.
N TX Storms Costly
This week's storms - hail and tornadoes in North Texas Tuesday night - caused at estimated 300 million dollars in damage. That's the word from Jerry Johns with the Southwestern Insurance Information Institute. The National weather served says eight tornadoes touched down - the strongest, an EF 2 in the Argyle and Denton area.
Dallas CityArts Festival This Weekend
The annual Dallas CityArts Festival is this Memorial Day weekend at Fair Park. It's FREE and features original artwork, entertainment and food from local chefs. DART serves Fair Park. Parking on the fairgrounds is ten dollars. Part of the proceeds of the ArtFest go to support Dallas-area cultural arts organizations.
