Dallas, TX –

Arlington Police have a possible motive in the murder of Northpointe Baptist Church's pastor and serious injury of his assistant Thursday.

Richard: There were some items missing from the church, so we believe robbery could have been a motive.

The Police Department's Tiara Richard says church assistant Judy Elliott's car is also missing. Investigators are asking for the public's help in locating the 2007 Mitsubishi Galant, Texas license DFR-352.

Northpointe is a satellite church of First Baptist, Arlington. Pastor Dennis Wiles remembered 29 year old pastor Clint Dobson this morning.

Wiles: He had a heart for the disadvantaged and people who are struggling. That's just who he was. He was a fine young preacher, but he was a much better person.

Pastor Wiles says Elliott is improving somewhat, now listed in stable condition.

Church member Lida Cummings says this has stunned everyone.

Cummings: I could not believe it happened. And all these questions were running through my head, like how in the world did they get inside the church to do the damage that they did?

Police say the doors were locked when the first officers arrived. A church member with keys arriving about the same time let them in.

Oak Farms Dairy is offering a ten thousand dollar reward for an arrest and indictment in the case.
