Dallas, TX – A winning "essay" could be a ticket to Super Bowl 45 for a Texas teenager.
Legendary Quarterback Troy Aikman says the statewide contest is for students 13 to 18 years old. The grand prize: two tickets to the big game February 6th.
The subject of the essay is "teamwork" - something Aikman says is very important to him.
Aikman: I think that my career was kind of defined by that. I mean most people know I didn't put up necessarily great statistics, but was part of some really special teams. So, it's a good message I think that we're giving to the kids. It's one that I try to pass on to my own kids.
Aikman says he is proud of the North Texas Super Bowl programs involving students in education and community service.
The deadline to submit a 500-word essay is January 21st.
