Dallas, TX – Governor Rick Perry said today there will be no televised debate with democrat Bill White. But in press conferences the rivals for governor are debating the size the of the state budget gap. White believes the shortfall will be twice as big as Perry projects.
KERA is sitting down with both candidates to talk further about how each would lead Texas through upcoming budget cuts.
Shelley Kofler talked to Perry this week. She asked whether he's downplaying the severity of a funding crisis.
