Dallas, TX – Today is the day the State Fair of Texas announces the top NEW fired foods for 2010.
The Fair's Sue Gooding says a panel of judges will decide "best taste" and "most creative" among eight finalists.
She says just the list of "finalists" prompted calls from international reporters.
Gooding: We've had interviews, literally, from New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Brazil. Everyone's interested in how do you fry beer. How do you fry a margarita? Are you sure you can fry a salad?
Those entries join Fried Lemonade and Deep Fried S'Mores Pop Tart among the finalists.
Gooding says the winners make "international" news - pushing the what-can-be-fried-envelope each year.
