Guilty Pleas After Residential Pot Farm Bust

By BJ Austin, KERA News

Dallas, TX – Five Dallas area residents face up to 40 years in federal prison for running a residential pot farm.

Court documents say federal agent raided three homes on Lathrop, Pensive, and Wildflower in northwest Dallas and found 980 marijuana plants. Investigators say over a three year period more than 45-hundred plants were grown at the houses. Authorities say the high-grade, hydroponic marijuana sold for about five thousand dollars a pound, and the operation made 3.6 million dollars over the three years.

Federal authorities say three men and two women pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana. They face sentencing in October.

A sixth defendant in the case goes on trial next month.
