Dallas, TX – The death of Edmund "Ted" Pillsbury - former Fort Worth Kimball Art Museum director - was a suicide.

Pillsbury was chairman of fine arts for Heritage Auction Galleries at the time of his death last month. The company's president, Greg Rohan says paperwork from the Kaufman County Sheriff listing the death as a suicide was a shock.

Rohan: I contacted the family directly and they confirmed to me that it was indeed a suicide. And that it was not an apparent heart attack, as we originally had been told.

Rohan says the family asks that their privacy be respected. Kaufman County Sheriff officials say they are not "confirming" suicide until autopsy results are in.
