Dallas, TX –

North Texas could set a record for February snowfall today. More than an inch would break the 1978 record of 13.5 inches. KERA's BJ Austin reports.

Dennis Cavanaugh, with the National Weather Service, Dallas-Fort Worth may see an inch or two. Heavier snowfall is expected south of I-20 - two to four inches in that corridor. And four to six inches are possible around Waco.

Cavanaugh says the light snow in Dallas Fort Worth will likely be enough to slow tomorrow morning's commute as moisture on the road freezes overnight.

Cavanaugh: On Wednesday morning, we do expect our temps to be below freezing. So, any elevated roadways could have some icy spots on them. And that would be bridges, overpasses that could have some light ice, or at least some icy spots on them.

The snowfall is expected to stop early afternoon.
