Dallas, TX –
Texas Department of Transportation crews didn't wait for the snow to hit before making some rounds. KERA's BJ Austin says sand trucks in the Dallas District have already hit the High Five.
Michelle Releford, with the Dallas TxDot District, says they pre-treated the High Five and the I-30 Lake Ray Hubbard Bridge early - using a solution that helps prevent freezing. She says afternoon commuters may not have an icy problem, but tomorrow morning's drive to work could be trickier. She says commuters need to make plans.
Releford: They need to talk to their supervisors today, and their day care providers. Whatever your job is, and your responsibility is, you need to start making your game plan today because there's going to be something going on in the morning.
Releford says the Dallas District has 134 sand trucks working the seven county area.
