Dallas, TX –
It's election day across Texas, where voters consider eleven state constitutional amendments. Local contests include school board races, a bond program, and alcohol votes. KERA's Bill Zeeble has more
Three seats for Dallas school board are being chosen today. Incumbents Edwin Flores and Leigh Ann Ellis face 3 opponents each in their races. Trustee Ron Price chose not to run for re-election in his district where 4 candidates are vying for that spot. Officials say odds are high for a runoff or two, maybe more.
Desoto and Sunnyvale voters decide on legalizing the sale of beer and wine. Tarrant county voters consider a school bond election and the continued funding of a crime prevention district.
Election officials predict an exceptionally low turnout of 3 and 5 percent. In Dallas, that's fewer than 50 thousand votes out of more than a million registered. Polls close at 7 tonight.
