Dallas, TX –
The key figure in the Dallas City Hall corruption trial is on the stand.
Former City Council member Don Hill began his testimony with some biographical information for jurors. Defense Attorney Ray Jackson then read sections of several resolutions and commendations given to Mr. Hill during his political career.
Hill used the opportunity to explain the importance of economic development in South Dallas; his efforts to make the UNT-Dallas campus a reality; and his work as a city council consensus builder.
He was on the stand for a little more than an hour. The bribery and extortion charges against him were NOT discussed. He resumes testimony tomorrow.
