Dallas, TX – Dallas County is reporting 3 more possible cases of swine flu, on top of 3 possible cases from Monday. County officials already confirmed 3 swine flu cases, and all patients are doing well. KERA's Bill Zeeble has more

Dallas County's Medical Director, Dr. John Carlo, says of the 3 new possible swine flu victims, 2 are members of a confirmed victim's family. Carlo says all the possible cases were tested for seasonal flu, which they did not have.

Carlo: If it's neg, that's called untyped influenza and that untyped specimen must then be sent to the CDC for further testing

So the CDC is now looking at 6 possible swine flu cases from Dallas. Carlo says half of all suspected Dallas cases have turned out not to be swine flu. That's important, because treatment for seasonal flu is different than for swine flu. Carlo says that's why a doctor is important for patients showing symptoms of coughing, aches, and fever. Tarrant County reports no new cases. It's still investigating one possible swine flu report.
