Dallas, TX – Houston Texan running back Ryan Moats told "Good Morning America" he accepts the apology from Dallas Police Officer Robert Powell. The officer kept Moats from attending to his dying mother-in-law during a traffic stop at the front door of a hospital.

Last week, Assistant Dallas Police Chief Floyd Simpson said Officer Powell viewed the dash-cam video of the incident and felt he was just doing his job. Simpson says Powell's apology came a day later.

Simpson: I'm happy that an apology was given from him. I certainly want to, and hope that it was sincere. Then we can just take it from there as we move forward.

Police will also be investigating claims that Officer Powell handcuffed and arrested the wife of another NFL player after she made a U-turn near Northpark last July.
