Dallas, TX – Dallas business leaders are applauding a bit of good banking news. KERA's BJ Austin says Capital One Bank is moving its regional headquarters to downtown Dallas.
The announcement was made on the ice rink at the Plaza of the Americas downtown.
Capital One's Kent Eastman says it's a very positive indicator when most of the financial news is glum.
Eastman: Texas and this area have been adding jobs, and continue to add jobs and lead the nation in that. While we are not immune to those national issues, at the same time, we are much more resilient and sustainable to this point.
Eastman says Capital One wants to be part of the exciting downtown growth. The move early next year will bring 80 employees from their current offices in North Dallas to the Plaza of the America's complex, which will also house a new Capital One bank branch.
