Dallas Co. Receives Clean Air Grant

By KERA News

Dallas, TX – Dallas County has received a state grant of more than $2 million that will be used to further crack down on illegal vehicle inspections and fake inspection stickers. The county already has a task force that pursues and prosecutes those trying to circumvent clean air laws.

The regional council of governments estimates some 19 percent of vehicle inspections in Dallas are improper or fraudulent. Vehicles that can't pass inspection are often those that contribute the most to air pollution.
