Dallas, TX – TXDot is making a million dollars in emergency repairs after two large potholes developed on the bridge in as many weeks. In each case, big pieces of the roadway fell to the ground below. TXDot's Kelli Petras says two lanes of the westbound bridge will be closed overnight for pothole repairs for the next three weeks.

Petras: What it means is actually taking out the existing concrete and removing it. Then you have to form the bridge bottom so that the concrete has something to sit on. Then pour the concrete and allow it to set.

Petras says only one lane will be open to westbound I-30 bridge traffic. In addition, the westbound I-30 entrance ramp at Industrial will be closed while the work is done from 9pm to 6am through July 31st.

The 50 year old bridge carries 75 thousand cars a day.
