Dallas, TX – The Zoo's Sean Green says elephants are social animals and the 32 year old Jenny deserves new friends and a new life at the 600 acre wildlife park 80 miles southeast of Mexico City.

Green: Losing Jenny, you know we hate to send her out in some ways because we know people love elephants. But we also know that Jenny's going to have a great home. And in the end that's what it's really about: doing the right thing for the animal. And in the end, this is the right thing for Jenny.

Green says Jenny will leave in the fall. He says the Zoo will not have an elephant exhibit for the next couple of years until a new Savannah project is funded and ready to roll out. In the meantime, the Zoo plans to expand the giraffe compound with two or three new giraffes and an INTERACTIVE component for zoo visitors
