Dallas, TX – American Airlines CEO Gerard Arpey is apologizing for a THIRD day of massive cancellations while the wiring on the airline's MD-80 fleet is inspected. The airline cancelled 922 flights today. In a conference call update, Mr. Arpey said they are working very hard to accommodate displaced passengers.

About 25 hundred flights have been canceled over three days. American says it will be revising schedules through the weekend. CEO Arpey says they hope to have all 300 MD-80's back in the air by Saturday night but there's no guarantee.
