Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić looks on before an NBA basketball game against the Charlotte Hornets, Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, in Los Angeles.

If you hope to see Luka Dončić make his return to Dallas with the Los Angeles Lakers in April, your best bet might be to watch from home.

Tickets for the Mavericks home game against the Lakers are going fast — and for a hefty price tag. As of Tuesday, a single ticket averages about $250 on popular ticket sale sites like Ticketmaster and StubHub.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks will travel to the West Coast to take on the Lakers Tuesday night in the first matchup between the two teams since the blockbuster that trade sent Dončić to California in exchange for Anthony Davis.

Since that trade, a vocal section of the fanbase has criticized the franchise.

Hundreds of people picketed outside the American Airlines Center after the trade was announced and in the ensuing days. Some fans went as far as to place a casket outside American Airlines Center, and there have been calls to fire General Manager Nico Harrison.

Dončić, who was injured in his final days with Dallas, is back on the court, although he isn’t back to his all-star self quite yet as he recovers from a calf strain.

Meanwhile, Davis sustained an injury in his first game on the Mav’s roster, and it is yet to return.
