Farmers Branch to expand animal shelter with dedicated cat area
The Farmers Branch City Council on Tuesday discussed expanding the animal shelter to include a dedicated cat area. The expansion is being funded by a $1.5 million donation from a late Farmers Branch resident who loved cats and the shelter.
Texas House passes bill to punish quorum breaks
House Bill 18 would ban lawmakers from raising funds while participating in a quorum break. It would punish such actions by fining lawmakers and their contributors up to $5,000 per donation.
