Addison Kaboom Town! Fireworks Will Be Livestreamed Only This Year Due To COVID-19

Jun 24, 2020

For the first time in more than 30 years, Addison skies will not be ablaze with fireworks on July 3. The 2020 Addison Kaboom Town! Fireworks show will be moved to an out-of-town location and live streamed only due to the surge in COVID-19 cases.

The July 3 show will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will be viewable on Addison’s You Tube Channel and channel CW33 on July 4.

According to the press release, the recent rise in Dallas County cases and difficulty securing public safety support and security for the event, led to the decision to make the show virtual.

The 30-minute long fireworks show is considered one of the best in the nation. More than half a million guests from across the country come to celebrate the event every July 3. The citywide celebration usually involves a party in the 12-acre Addison Circle Park, watch parties at Addison’s more than 180 restaurants, 23 hotels and the Addison Airport Air Show.
