Three candidates have filed to run for Fort Worth mayor. Potential candidates have until Feb. 15 to file for the May 4 election. Let's meet the candidates.

Deborah Peoples

Why you know her: Peoples has been Tarrant County Democratic Party chair since 2013. After 34 years with AT&T, she retired as vice president of U-verse Sales. Peoples earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Women's University in Denton.
What she says: “I believe it’s time. Time to stand up for Fort Worth and time to stand up for each other," she said at an event. "We have one chance to get this right. And we need a mayor who will stand up for all of us."

Betsy Price

Why you know her: She's the current mayor of Fort Worth, having served eight years in that office. If successful in this election, she would become the longest serving mayor of Fort Worth. After running her own business for 17 years, Price was first elected in 2000 to serve as Tarrant County’s Tax Assessor. She first ran for mayor in 2011.
What she says: "I think there's a lot yet to be done," she told WFAA-TV. "I'd like to continue on a couple more years."
