Fernando Ortiz
Ortiz was a print and online news editor at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and the San Antonio Express-News from 1999 to 2010.
He was also a news page designer, wire editor, a book/arts critic and blogger and a member of the Caller-Times editorial board.
Fernando has a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, both in U.S. history. Before joining Texas Public Radio, he taught U.S. history at Northwest Vista College, San Antonio College, UTSA and Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
