Primary candidates have dozens of signs outside of voting locations in Oak Cliff.

Winter weather caused disruptions at polling places earlier in the week.

After disruptions due to winter weather, some polling places in Dallas County will remain open until 10 p.m. Friday.

Democrats in Dallas County filed a restraining order Friday to give people more time to vote early in the primaries.

"All we're asking for just a little extra time for folks to be able to exercise their fundamental right," said Andrew Sommerman, a Democratic candidate for the Dallas County Commissioners Court in district 2.

Sommerman filed the petition, representing himself, as well as four other Democratic candidates and the Dallas County Democratic Party.

“You know, you miss time from work, you got to come back and you got to catch up," Sommerman said. "The same is true for voting."
