It's Texas-OU Weekend — Prepare For Traffic, Crowds

Associated Press
The Longhorns and the Sooners have played in Dallas every year since 1929.

The yearly Red River Showdown kicks off tomorrow at Fair Park, and that usually means larger-than-average crowds at the State Fair and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Using public transit is a good idea for those looking to avoid traffic and high parking fees, but DART spokesman Mark Ball says trains will also be busier than usual.

"This is our second busiest day of the entire year for DART, so it's all hands on deck," Ball said.

In anticipation, DART will be running a special gameday rail line on Saturday. Downloada map here.

"We've implemented what we've referred to as our Green Line circular train, which literally makes a clockwise circle taking everybody to the game and dropping them off at two locations: Fair Park Station and MLK Jr. Station," Ball said.

You can buy tickets ahead of time using DART's GoPass app, and Ball also recommends starting your trip at least an hour earlier than normal.
