It's official — the National Weather Service has recorded the first 100-degree temperature at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Tuesday.
There will be some low rain chances across the southeast early Wednesday morning, but the remainder of the day will be sunny and rain-free. With just one full day left in the month, getting all the way through July without hitting the century mark isn't exactly record-breaking — but it's not common either. KXAS reports that in 121 years of weather record keeping, July has been devoid of 100-degree days just 22 times. The last time was in 2007.
The fact that this 29-day stretch of under-100 temperatures comes after one of the wettest springs on record, according to the National Weather Service, is worth noting. And more chances for scattered showers and storms are forecast for today, mainly south of I-20. Gusty winds are possible with any stronger storms during the afternoon, the service said on Twitter.
