Irving ISD Names Jose Parra Of Lockhart ISD Its Lone Superintendent Finalist

Irving ISD
Jose Parra of Lockhart ISD has been named the sole superintendent finalist in the Irving school district.

The Irving Independent School District has named the man it wants to lead its schools – Jose L. Parra, currently superintendent of Lockhart ISD, a much smaller school district south of Austin.

The district has entered a 21-day waiting period, required by the state, before it can offer Parra a contract.

The district anticipates that Parra will start working in January.

“Dr. Parra is a student-focused, visionary leader with high academic standards and expectations,” said Steven Jones, the Irving ISD school board president. “Everything he does is for the benefit of his students.”

School board members visited Lockhart ISD, where Parra is in his sixth year as superintendent.
