Future Islands
Mark Abuzzahab, KXT's program director, says Future Islands is one of his favorite bands from this year's SXSW.

Yes, SXSW is over for the year, but the music lives on thanks to public radio. NPR Music checked in with public radio music experts across the country to see what SXSW acts they enjoyed this month. The list includes Mark Abuzzahab, KXT’s program director.

Mark's pick was highlighted Monday morning on NPR's "Morning Edition."

Here’s what Mark had to say:

Future Islands, 'Seasons (Waiting On You)' -- It's never easy going into SXSW with a buzz like the one Future Islands had from a recent Letterman performance. At Haven on Wednesday night, after a few technical problems that seem to pop up during the first song of almost every SXSW show, the band delivered. The first time Samuel Herring lowered his voice and sang like a possessed Muppet, Future Islands became one of my favorites from the festival. Mark Abuzzahab, KXT
