Aviator and late-life astronaut Wally Funk, a longtime Grapevine resident, died in July at 87 years old. Loved ones came together Sept. 1 to honor her memory.
-
The city announced Funk's death Thursday, saying she "inspired generations by breaking barriers in aviation and space exploration."
-
The honor comes after the aviator became at the time the oldest person to travel to space on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin spacecraft in 2021.
