Mayra Velasquez, a 42-year-old real estate agent, was charged after police said DNA evidence linked her to the stabbing more than 14 years after. The victim, Irasema Chavez, was stabbed more than 100 times.

Attorneys for Mayra Velasquez said in a statement that the evidence in the case doesn't line up and, in a court document, they argue the denial of bond violates her constitutional rights.

Police have arrested Mayra Velasquez, 42, and charged her with capital murder. They say she killed Irasema Sanchez by stabbing her more than 100 times in 2012.

Arlington police have not released any details on the killing for which Mayra Velasquez was arrested. She's being held at the Tarrant County Jail without bond.

Janie Perkins was accused of murdering Cynthia Gonzalez in 1991. She was arrested last year, but a Tarrant County grand jury handed up a no bill of indictment.
