The Olympics are officially underway in Tokyo, and the Lone Star State is well represented on Team USA. Some Texas-based athletes are competing for other countries, as well.

Now let's meet the athletes. Here some of the Texans you'll see competing in the Olympic games:
Archery
Mackenzie Brown (USA)
The Flint, Texas, native is a two-time Olympian (2016 and 2020).
Baseball
Shane Baz (USA)
A Cypress native, Bax graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball in 2017 and plays for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Scott Kazmir (USA)
The Houston native went to Cypress Falls High School in Cypress Falls. Kazmir attended UT Austin and plays for the San Francisco Giants.
Ian Kinsler (Israel)
While he's not on Team USA, Kinsler is someone Rangers fans know. The second baseman began his MLB career with the Texas Rangers, starting in 2006 and ending in 2012.
Simeon Woods-Richardson (USA)
The right-handed pitcher is from Sugar Land, where he attended Kempner High School.
Basketball
Ariel Atkins (USA)
Atkins is a Dallas native and graduate of Duncanville High School and The University of Texas at Austin. She's competing in the women's 5x5.
Luka Dončić (Slovenia)
NBA fans know who Luka Dončić is. The Dallas Maverick is playing for his native Slovenia.
Allisha Gray (USA)
Gray may be from Georgia but she's also a guard on the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. She's competing in the women's 3-on-3.
Josh Green (Australia)
The Dallas Mavericks shooting guard/small forward is competing for his native Australia.
Brittney Griner (USA)
The Houston native and Baylor graduate is competing in the women's 5x5.
Boxing
Virginia Fuchs (USA)
The Houston native is competing in the flyweight division.

Lawson Craddock (USA)
The Houston native graduated from Cypress Springs High School in Cypress, and attended Austin Community College. Craddock is competing in the Road Race and Individual Time Trial.
Conor Fields (USA)
Fields is a Plano native and is competing in the BMX race.
Diving
Alison Gibson (USA)
Gibson is an Austin native and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Her event is springboard diving.
Hailey Hernandez (USA)
A North Texan from Southlake, this is Hernandez's first Olympic games.
Jordan Windle (USA)
Windle is from Florida, but attends the University of Texas at Austin.

Courtney Hurley (USA)
Born in Houston and raised in San Antonio, Courtney Hurley is competing in the individual and team events.
Kelley Hurley (USA)
Sister to Courtney, Kelley Hurley is a four-time Olympian.
Anna Van Brummen (USA)
Van Brummen is a native of Houston.

Bryson DeChambeau (USA)
Originally from Clovis, California, DeChambeau attends SMU and majors in physics.
Carlos Ortiz (Mexico)
While Ortiz is competing for his native Mexico, he lives in Dallas and attended the University of North Texas.

Simone Biles (USA)
Unless you've been on another planet, you know the two-time Olympian is one of the stars of the Tokyo games. She lives in Spring and is coached by two Dallasites, Cecile and Laurent Landi. Her events are Team, Floor Exercise, Balance Beam, Vault and All-Around.
Jordan Chiles (USA)
Another Spring resident, this is Chiles' first Olympic games. Her events are

Tom Scott (USA)
Born and raised in Richardson, Scott attended Jesuit College Preparatory School, TCU and UT-Dallas.

Gia Doonan (USA)
Originally from Massachusetts, Doonan studied kinesiology at the University of Texas.

Kevon Williams (USA)
Williams is from Houston. This is his first Olympic games.
Shooting
Phillip Jungman (USA)
Jungman was born in Bryan, raised in Caldwell and is an active duty specialist in the U.S. Army.
Austen Smith (USA)
Born in Dallas and living in Keller, Smith attends the University of Texas at Arlington, studying aerospace engineering.
Vincent Hancock (USA)
Based in Fort Worth, Hancock is a former sergeant in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. He won his third gold medal in skeet shooting.

Cat Osterman (USA)
The Houston native and two-time Olympian, Cat Osterman is one of the best from the state of Texas. Osterman racked up the accolades at the University of Texas, including being the only three-time USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.

Townley Haas (USA)
A Virginia native, Haas graduated from UT Austin.
Natalie Hinds (USA)
Hinds is from Midland, and this is her first Olympics.
Drew Kibler (USA)
Kibler is from Indiana, and is a student at UT Austin.
Simone Manuel (USA)
The Sugar Land resident is a two-time Olympian. Her event is the

A Texas Tech graduate, Kipyego is competing in the 10,000-meter and marathon.
Annie Kunz (USA)
Kunz is a Texas A&M grad. She's competing in the heptathlon.
KC Lightfoot (USA)
Lightfoot attended Baylor and is in the pole vault competition.
Maggie Malone (USA)
