She co-produced The Prison Time Media Project, a national series exploring the legacy of mass incarceration on the anniversary of the Rockefeller Drug Laws. Her investigative reporting has won recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists, PRNDI, Murrow, and the AP.

Tamar Charney is the Managing Director for Personalization and Curation. In this role, she creates and executes new editorial strategies for programming a unique and customizable mix of the best international, national, and local public radio news that is blended with hand curated podcasts. Previously, she held the title of Managing Editor of NPR One.

Kate Stein can't quite explain what attracts her to South Florida. It's more than just the warm weather (although this Wisconsin native and Northwestern University graduate definitely appreciates the South Florida sunshine). It has a lot to do with being able to travel from the Everglades to Little Havana to Brickell without turning off 8th Street. It's also related to Stein's fantastic coworkers, whom she first got to know during a winter 2016 internship.Officially, Stein is WLRN's environment, data and transportation journalist. Privately, she uses her job as an excuse to rove around South Florida searching for stories à la Carl Hiaasen and Edna Buchanan. Regardless, Stein speaks Spanish and is always thrilled to run, explore and read.

Kara Lofton is a photojournalist based in Harrisonburg, VA. She is a 2014 graduate of Eastern Mennonite University and has been published by EMU, Sojourners Magazine, and The Mennonite. Her reporting for WMRA is her radio debut.
