On Tuesday morning, survey teams with the National Weather Service were assessing the damage from heavy storms on Monday night, which brought winds of up to 60 miles per hour to some areas.
Meteorologist Bianca Garcia said multiple power lines were down throughout the region Tuesday morning.
“Some of the... more expensive damage that we received was near Joshua, and I believe in parts of Midlothian as well, in Ellis County,” Garcia said.
She also said areas north of DFW saw sizable hail.
“We had a couple reports of hail that were half dollar-size, quarter-size, and a lot of wind damage reports with multiple power lines down, damage to barns and small housing,” Garcia said.
Severe flooding was also reported in Collin County. The McKinney Fire Department posted photos of water rescue operations.
Collin County officials report one home was destroyed and several others damaged near Blue Ridge. Several county roads were also closed due to flooding and fallen trees.
