Another DISD Departure: First Hispanic Communications Chief Quits

DISD

After just three months on the job, the Dallas school district’s most recent communications chief, Rebecca Rodriguez, has quit. Her resignation is effective immediately.

DISD Superintendent Mike Miles said he “wished Rebecca well in her future endeavors.”

In the past week, two other members of Miles' cabinet also left.

At least seven cabinet-level employees have quit since Miles took the job about a year ago.

Rodriguez was hired in March after her predecessor, Jennifer Sprague, left after less than year. Sprague had worked for Miles previously, in Colorado.

The superintendent said the communications chief  position will stay open for the time being. Longtime spokesman Jon Dahlander will represent the department at the cabinet level.
