Dallas, TX – Lopez was one of 2 passengers killed in the Tornado Bus lines crash that also claimed the driver of a pick up smashed by the bus after it crossed a median. Dozens on the bus were also injured. The most serious are now in various hospitals. The bus driver sustained minor injuries. Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash. Bus line spokesperson Jennifer Rodriquez refused to answer most questions pertaining to bus or driver safety issues, expressing concern for passengers and family.
Rodriquez: We care about the safety and welfare of out passengers and are doing everything possible to make this bearable for all.
Rodriguez said the Tornado bus company was cooperating with federal investigators. When asked about the company's past safety violations or testing of its drivers for drugs or alcohol, she refused to answer. Bill Zeeble, KERA news
