Dallas, TX –
Immigrant children can face special challenges in getting an education. In Texas, more than 732-thousand students last school year spoke limited English. That's not an actual number of immigrant students. Schools by law can't ask about citizenship, but it is an idea of how many children need extra assistance integrating into English language schools. KERA's Sam Baker, in our School Days series, visits a Dallas school district center helping foreign born children get the educational start they need.
