Dallas, TX –

For Valentine's Day, two love letters from famous Texans. It's an excerpt from a special edition of the North Texas Radio for the Blind program, The Eyes of North Texas with host Adele Campbell. Brenda McClurkin, a manuscript archivist with the University of Texas at Arlington's special collections begins with a letter General Sam Houston wrote in 1839 to a near 16-year girl he was courting at the time. Houston wrote the letter on Valentine's Day, but without the tone you would expect.
