Dallas, TX –
May 9 is the last day to vote early in municipal and school board races across north Texas. A number of those races involve mayoral contests, including one in Plano. Incumbent Pat Evans hopes to win a third and - under term limits - final term. Her opponent is a former city manager, city engineer and council member. Ken Lambert's initial intent was more about fulfilling a desire to become mayor before his political career ended than it was about ousting Evans. But some tension has since crept into the campaigning. Reporter Jake Batsell of the Dallas Morning News has been covering the race and he talked with 90.1's Sam Baker about what's at the root of the tension.
