Dallas, TX –
Having already panned the Governor's 6-billion dollar plan to end reliance on local property taxes to pay for public schools as coming up billions of dollar short, Carole Keeton Strayhorn will take center stage as state lawmakers begin yet another special session to try and find a solution. They have a state Supreme Court ordered deadline of June 1st to come up with a plan. The comptroller today will announce her estimate of how much the state has to spend. Ross Ramsey, writer and editor of the political and government newsletter Texas Weekly, talked about the session with 90.1's Morning Edition host Sam Baker.
