Fort Worth, TX –

The city of Fort Worth is located on top of the nation's fastest-growing natural gas field. The Barnett Shale had dozens of gas wells a decade ago, but in the last five years, more than 4,000 have been drilled. This compelled the Fort Worth City Council to evaluate the city's current regulations on safety, noise, and other quality-of-life issues related gas wells. Last night Fort Worth's gas drilling task force held the first of two community meetings on its recommendations and heard concerns from citizens. 90.1's Catherine Cuellar was there.
