Dallas, TX –
The Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs wields a lot of influence in the local arts community. It funds art organizations, subsidizes public art projects, and manages facilities, including the Meyerson Symphony Center. The office went without a director for months after the retirement of Betty Switzer. The new director is Maria Muñoz-Blanco, who previously worked in Houston and Atlanta. 90.1's Catherine Cuellar spoke to her yesterday at Dallas City Hall, where Muñoz-Blanco said she hopes to increase resources by helping people realize the arts are a good investment.
At noon today on the Talk Show, join host Krys Boyd, who will discuss the book What Good Are the Arts? with author John Carey.
